A "Majestic" Night in Memphis

February is quite a month for us! I turned 22 on the 1oth, our anniversary is on the 11th, Valentine's Day, of course, is on the 14th and Mitchell turns 23 on the 22nd! Phew! With all this celebrating to do, comes great food and great company. Why not use all this to our blog's advantage?

2 weekends ago, we went to Memphis, TN in search of some good grub for my birthday. A dear friend of mine was in Memphis and I couldn't pass up the chance to spend some time with her. After much consideration, we decided to try out The Majestic Grille on South Main in Downtown Memphis. I was so glad we did!

The Majestic Grille has an old Hollywood, "hip-lounge" sort of feel. The shot of the outside I edited in black and white because it just seemed right! As you enter, you seem to almost step off the street in 2014 and enter a time period long ago, where dining was glamorous, indulgent, and had just a little touch of "sparkle". I could imagine the classic "Rat Pack" sitting in the ultra plush corner booth checking out the scene.

Beautiful palm trees up-lit by soft white lights create a center aisle down the restaurant separating the bar from the dining area. We sat in a lofted booth; it was almost like having a little private room to ourselves. Our lovely waitress donned the traditional all-black garb with a white linen towel over her arm. When we told her we had never been there before, she was quick to make suggestions as to what we should order. Of course, we took her word for it and ordered the crispy chicken eggrolls with creole mustard sauce for an appetizer to share, Mitchell ordered the seared tuna, I ordered the cheese ravioli with roasted pine nuts, and my friend ordered the wild mushroom tortellini.

The food and presentation from start to finish was 5 star. It was apparent that great detail was given to enhance the overall experience for the diner. That's why I enjoyed my time at The Majestic Grille so much. It wasn't just another meal in a greasy chain; it was an experience - with just the right amount of sophistication and elegance, and certainly one I won't soon forget!

If you're looking for a special night out for a birthday, anniversary, new job, or simply because you work too hard and want to treat yourself, look no further than The Majestic Grille. Cheers!
